Personal Experience

Matthias Peters-Kroll is a Connecticut attorney whose practice sits at the intersection of litigation, real estate, and practical problem-solving. A resident of Watertown, Connecticut, Matthias has built his career representing individuals and families when the stakes are highest—whether that means protecting a home purchase, holding an insurance company accountable, or standing up to powerful defendants unwilling to do the right thing.

Since graduating from Washington and Lee University School of Law in 2011, Matthias has represented buyers and sellers in more than 1,000 residential and commercial real-estate transactions, guiding clients through purchases, sales, refinances, and complex commercial deals with a steady hand and a deep understanding of Connecticut property law. His real-estate practice is grounded in efficiency and precision, informed by more than a decade of experience identifying and resolving issues before they become costly disputes. Personally Matthias has closed in excess

In litigation, Matthias is known for pressing cases forward rather than accepting early, undervalued resolutions. In one notable premises-liability matter, he secured a $185,000 settlement against a condominium association after the insurer initially offered just $5,000, demonstrating his willingness to develop the facts, challenge liability defenses, and force meaningful accountability. That same approach carries through his broader personal-injury practice, where he has handled hundreds of bodily-injury claims against insurance carriers and negligent parties from inception through trial securing millions of dollars in recoveries for his clients.

Beyond personal injury, Matthias has litigated a wide range of civil matters to trial, including actions against unscrupulous contractors who preyed on elderly homeowners, as well as cases enforcing child-support obligations for single parents. His work reflects a consistent through-line: using the civil justice system to rebalance power when individuals are taken advantage of or ignored.

Matthias’s practice is further informed by meaningful experience in criminal defense, workers’ compensation, and probate and estate planning, giving him a perspective that reaches beyond any single case or cause of action. Having represented clients facing criminal charges, workplace injuries, and end-of-life planning decisions, he understands how legal problems rarely exist in isolation—and how a misstep in one area can quietly create consequences in another.

That cross-disciplinary background allows Matthias to see what many lawyers miss: how an injury claim may affect employment status, how a criminal charge can complicate housing or custody, or how litigation outcomes intersect with estate planning and long-term family security. In workers’ compensation matters, he has navigated the practical realities of injured clients struggling to support their families while insurers delay or deny benefits. In probate and wills, he has helped clients plan for incapacity, protect assets, and prevent disputes before they arise.

As a result, Matthias approaches every case with a holistic mindset—anticipating downstream issues, coordinating strategy across legal domains, and tailoring solutions that account for the full scope of a client’s life, not just the immediate dispute. That broader view consistently

translates into smarter strategy, fewer surprises, and outcomes that serve clients not only today, but years down the line.

Matthias began his legal career with a foundation in history and government, graduating cum laude from Franklin & Marshall College, and he brings that perspective into every case—understanding not only how the law works, but why it exists and who it is meant to protect. In 2022, his results and advocacy were recognized when he was named “Top 10 Under 40” by the National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys.

Licensed to practice in Connecticut, Matthias approaches each matter with the understanding that while legal disputes are routine for lawyers, they are anything but routine for clients. His role, as he sees it, is to translate complexity into clarity—and to pursue outcomes that materially change his clients’ lives.
