Born and raised in Waterbury, Connecticut, Attorney Joseph Tramuta began practicing law in 1985. He graduated cum laude from Providence College with a B.S. in Business Management receiving his juris doctorate at Gonzaga University School of Law. Upon graduating, he was admitted to the Connecticut Bar of the Connecticut Supreme Court and became a criminal public defender working on various criminal cases. In 1986 Attorney Tramuta was a admitted to the United States District Court and in 1990, he was admitted to the United States Supreme Court.
Shortly thereafter, Attorney Tramuta moved to Boca Raton, Florida, where he acted as General Counsel and Executive Vice President of a biomedical startup corporation. During his time with that company, Joseph oversaw the marketing and operations of the corporation. This led to the company's international expansion, with clients in 19 different countries.
Attorney Tramuta moved to Milford, Connecticut, in 2001, where he acted as the President of New England Stone, Inc. During his tenure there, Attorney Tramuta oversaw operations and reorganized the business model to better develop relationships with architecture and design firms. By 2006, Attorney Tramuta's efforts earned New England Stone, Inc., sales of over $8.5 million, which equaled a growth of over 50% from the day he assumed the role of President of the company.
In 2009, Attorney Tramuta returned to the practice of law as an Associate and Managing Attorney at the law firm of Moynahan and Minnella, LLC. There, Attorney Tramuta utilized his business knowledge to enhance the office's corporate law and real estate departments, including major transactions for the NBA Retired Players Association and several other multi-million-dollar corporations.
Attorney Tramuta is now the Managing Partner of Minnella, Tramuta and Edwards, LLC. He oversees the law practice and its staff. He engages in various practice areas, including personal injury, probate and estate law, civil litigation, criminal law, real estate, and business law. Attorney Tramuta also partners with lawyers of many different specialties, including patent law, immigration law, and tax law. With his vast business and legal experience and his amiable personality, he quickly grasps his clients' challenges and ensures they receive the best legal representation he can provide, while treating his clients with dignity and respect.
Last year, Attorney Tramuta performed over 200 residential and commercial closings. He represents over 50 restaurants, including Pizzeria Molto of Fairfield, Matto Wine Bar of Shelton, Spiga of New Canaan, Lugano of Greenwich, Joey C's Boathouse of Stratford, and Dockside Brewery of Milford. His representation of the restaurants includes negotiating leases, forming LLCs or corporations and preparing Operating Agreements and Shareholders' Agreements.
Additionally, he works with professional contractors, drafting contracts in compliance with the Home Improvement Act. In his personal injury cases, Attorney Tramuta often obtains the entirety of the available insurance policy for his clients and pursues underinsured claims when applicable.
Attorney Tramuta has a passion for helping people in need. For 20 years Joseph has been an active member of the Board of Directors for Boys and Girls Village, a non-profit that assists troubled and at-risk youths. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Connecticut Italian-American Bar Association. He is a proud sponsor Fridays After Five, through the Milford Chamber of Commerce, which is a summertime concert series featuring beloved local bands in Milford, Connecticut.
In his spare time, he enjoys boating, golfing, traveling, and spending time with his two daughters, Sophia and Olivia and Meg, his wife of 35 years. He also looks forward to Milford Porch Fest, hosting local bands at his home for his family, friends, and neighbors.
